How to get an Internship?
How to get an Internship?
The BAE Systems, SNHU Career Center, IEEE WIE/YP and SNHU IEEE Student Branch are teaming up to organize career event title “How to get and Internship”. BAE systems will guide students on how to apply for internships and jobs with BAE specific advice and some general advice. Students will become familiar with the system. Many students are unaware how early one needs to apply for jobs and internship at the big companies. SNHU Career center will follow up with explanations and demonstrations on how they can facilitate internship application process and how they can prepare students for interviews. Representatives from IEEE Young Professional and Women in Engineering will illustrate how IEEE can be part of the process and how they can support students transitioning to their professional life. Agenda: 1 – Arrival, food, networking 5pm 2 – Presentation by BAE systems 5:15 3 – Presentation by the SNHU Career Center 5:45 4 – Presentation by IEEE YP 6 5 – Questions and Answers session and networking Room: 128, Bldg: School of Engineering, Technology and Aeronautics, Southern New Hampshire University, 2500 North River Road, Manchester, New Hampshire, United States, 03106

Standby Power Switching, Paralleling, & Isolation Equipment – ASCO
Standby Power Switching, Paralleling, & Isolation Equipment – ASCO
Transfer Switch 101: Transfer Switch Fundamentals – This session will focus on Transfer Switches, understanding their purpose in the electrical system. We will explore the elements of a transfer switch and a bypass isolation transfer switch along with the different methods of transferring between sources and their strengths and weaknesses in specific applications. Code compliance is critical so we will explore the codes and standards that reference transfer switches. Power Control Systems: Paralleling Switchgear Design Basics – This session will focus on Generator synchronizing switchgear controls and System Master Controls in emergency power and closed transition modes of operation. We will address priority load controls to ensure that essential facility loads are connected when emergency power is necessary. We’ll also cover Applicable UL, ANSI and Seismic standards. Source Isolation Switching/New Energy Landscape: As technology continues to mature and the need for uninterrupted power becomes increasingly critical, the standby power landscape is evolving beyond traditional generators. Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) are now assuming multiple roles in these systems, prompting a reevaluation of how they can be effectively deployed to ensure operational reliability and compliance with codes and standards in resilience applications. This session will delve into the evolving market dynamics, changing codes, and emerging architectures that facilitate the integration of DERs for backup power, even within critical standby systems. Speaker(s): Victor, Pete, Robert Agenda: The seminar fee includes lunch, refreshments and handouts. Non-members joining IEEE within 30 days of the seminar will be rebated 50% of the IEEE registration charge. Four hours of instruction will be provided. If desired, IEEE Continuing Education Units (0.4 CEUs) will be offered for this course - a small fee of $55 will be required for processing. Please pay attention to the “Registration Fee” and choose the appropriate choice either with or without CEUs. CEU Evaluation Form can be found at: (https://innovationatwork.ieee.org/ieee-pes-northjersey-certificates/) Room: Auditorium, Bldg: PSE&G - Hadley Road Facility, 4000 Hadley Road, South Plainfield, New Jersey, United States, 07080
