Hybrid electric aircraft are the only near term practical solution to decarbonizing aviation. This approach optimizes for reducing emissions while maintaining payload. There are several tradeoffs made while engineering a hybrid electric architecture to create this optimal solution. This talk will touch on the tradeoffs and technologies that enable practical aircraft as well as the real world integration challenges.
