IEEE Affinity Groups are non-technical sub-units of one or more IEEE Sections or an IEEE Council. An IEEE Affinity Group is a local unit of an IEEE organizational unit or standing committee, established by petition to the parent organizational unit, to fulfill the purposes of the IEEE.

IEEE Region 1 coordinates the activities of the following Affinity Groups in its region:

• Graduates of the Last Decade (Young Professionals)
• Life Members (Life Members)
• Women in Engineering (WIE)
