On December 18th, IEEE R1 WIE (in collaboration with R3 WIE) co-hosted an inspiring reception at Daytona Beach on December 18 2024 to bring together professionals, academics, and students from Regions 1, 2, and 3, along with enthusiastic guests.

I would like to thank to Dr. Anisha Apte for her support and sponsorship and also thank Dr. Ebonee Walker for her significant help in promoting this event in R3 as our co-host.

The event offered a unique platform to connect, collaborate, and network with industry leaders, keynote speakers, and pioneers in wireless and RFID fields. Attendees were motivated when such events provide them with unique networking opportunities enabling participants to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build meaningful connections. The ultimate goal of this IEEE WIE reception was to contribute to the growing movement to create a stronger, more diverse community of engineers, scientists, and technologists committed to shaping the future.

The event also enabled IEEE WIE members to collaborate, share ideas, and strategize to grow WIE membership, encouraging more girls and women to pursue engineering and Science careers. Together, we engineer a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.  An airshow with an ERAU faculty/pilot was also organized during this event to add more to the excitement and help attendees enjoy networking with one another outside of normal reception format.

35 attended plus 3 guests. More details are available at the event’s registration page.
